My Jazz Picks This Week
An ambitious musical mashup of classical music, bluegrass and jazz will be presented by the Durham Symphony under the direction of Maestro William Henry Curry. On Saturday the “NC Music and All That Jazz” performance will showcase jazz and NC Piedmont bluegrass music featuring pieces from North Carolina composers and local artists, including the works of Copland, Mizesko, and a special tribute to Duke Ellington’s long-time collaborator, Billy Strayhorn.
