Music Marathon

This week there is a lot of music to take in and even a documentary on Fred Hersch at Full Frame. It literally is like a music marathon this week. Pace yourselves. See you around town, jazz heads.

My Jazz Picks This Week

An ambitious  musical mashup of classical music, bluegrass and jazz will be presented by the Durham Symphony under the direction of Maestro William Henry Curry. On Saturday the “NC Music and All That Jazz” performance will showcase jazz and NC Piedmont bluegrass music featuring pieces from North Carolina composers and local artists, including the works of Copland, Mizesko, and a special tribute to Duke Ellington’s long-time collaborator, Billy Strayhorn.
